Our kit works with either amplified or unamplified systems. However, if you are amplified and you plan on upgrading your speakers in the future and or adding a subwoofer (or better), the whole audio system needs to be upgraded. Our system will not work with some of the speakers hooked up to the factory amplifier and others not. This is due to the digital amplifier in this vehicle and how the radio interfaces to the digital factory amp.

I recently installed the XAV-9500ES kit in my Jeep JL, and I’m genuinely impressed with how much it’s improved my audio experience. The sound quality is a huge upgrade over the stock system, and the touchscreen is incredibly responsive compared to the old aftermarket deck I took out. I couldn’t be happier with this radio. It look stock. All my stock controls work as they did including the backup camera. The kit is definitely 3D printed but the parts you can see when its finished look like a million bucks. I’m doing one for my buddy’s JL next week.

I was originally planning to going with a different radio my friend talked me into, but after some thought, I decided to spring for the XAV-9500ES instead. Now that it’s installed, I’m so glad I did! The larger display is a huge bonus, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to sound any better but the sound quality is fantastic. I was a bit worried it might be overkill, but it fits perfectly and feels like a real upgrade from the stock deck. The installation wasn’t bad either, and now that it’s all set up, I’m happy I went with the 9500. HOWEVER, BE WARNED THE STOCK USBS DO NOT WORK WITH THIS RADIO THEY SAY THE UCONNECT MODULE CONTROLS THEM. Other than that It’s definitely been worth the extra investment!

This kit comes at an incredible value. Just buying the radio, harness, Maestro RR, and back up camera retention totals to $1645 before tax. While this kit includes that plus the dash kit, the mounting of the radio, ribbon cables, antenna extension, prewired no splice harness, and the Maestro piece comes pre programmed. I’m a huge Sony fan and thought that the only radio solution for my Jeep was a Stinger HEIGH10 and I did not want that. I love the Sony 9500ES for its large screen, wireless apple car play, Hi-Res dsp, and incredible tuning capabilities. I currently have this pair with a Sony compact 4 channel, Alpine S2 components front and rear, and a Rockford Fosgate p300-8p and it sounds amazing
