Allow for easy upgrading away from the stock problematic 8″ and 4″ driver to super efficient great sound Sony 6×9.
Easy Install takes under an hour for both front speakers improves sound tremendously. Minor modification to inner door skin.

Composite polypropylene cone woofer
A durable polypropylene diaphragm delivers deep bass, while suppressed peaks and dips in the mid and high frequencies ensure smooth integration with the tweeter.
Foam rubber surround
The woofer surround material is made of foam rubber, manufactured with an air-filled matrix structure that is light-weight and durable, providing optimal damping characteristics for responsive bass notes.
Silk soft-dome tweeter
Based on technology developed for our premium speaker designs, the soft-dome tweeter boasts a flat frequency response and wider dispersion. In addition, its silk diaphragm contributes to natural and smooth sound with good internal loss.
Progressive height rate spider
The acoustically-optimized spider allows for higher power handling and airflow, with a profile designed for more rapid and precise cushioning of the speaker cone.
Dynamic Air Diffuser
The integrated Dynamic Air Diffuser ensures efficient air circulation for smooth cone travel and cooling of the voice coil.
Easy installation
The smaller tweeter chassis and shallow woofer basket decrease physical interference with factory grilles, enabling easy installation in a wider variety of vehicles.

Lightweight Rigid Cellular Aramid Fiber Matrix Woofer
The main speaker diaphragm on the XS-690ES is crafted from Sony’s unique Lightweight Rigid Cellular material, formerly known as MRC. The latest generation compound has been further optimized alongside mechanical driver improvements, to deliver an even wider frequency response and smoother, more natural sound characteristics.
Optimal formulation
Embedding in a unique matrix with aramid fibers suppresses diaphragm resonance and minimizes distortion, not only in the lows, but also in the mid and higher frequencies. The result is sound that is powerful at all frequencies and uncommonly clean, even at high volume.
Separated Notch Edge Surround
The woofer surround features another proprietary Sony technology, with distinctive curved notches improving the vertical amplitude symmetry, for dramatically reduced distortion and enhanced clarity.
Five-beam Frame Structure & Dynamic Air Diffuser
The Five-beam Frame design disperses resonance while the integrated Dynamic Air Diffuser ensures efficient air circulation for smooth cone travel and cooling of the voice coil.

Tweeters to hit the high notes
Compatible with High-Resolution Audio, a soft dome tweeter diaphragm is directly attached on the voice coil, designed to cover your music’s ultra-high ends, with a frequency range extending up to 40kHz.
